Blood sugar and ketone measurement for dogs & cats
The WellionVet BELUA measuring device was developed especially for dogs and cats. For precise blood sugar or ketone body measurement, special code chips are used, which can be exchanged easily and quickly. The simple handling of the WellionVet BELUA blood glucose meter makes life with a diabetic pet easier. The large and easy to read digits on the backlit display and the illuminated test strip slot also contribute to this.
The used WellionVet BELUA test strip (WellionVet BELUA Blood glucose teststrips for dogs, cats and cows, WellionVet BELUA ketone teststrips for cats and dogs, WellionVet BELUA ketone teststrips for cows) can be easily and quickly removed using the eject button. The 6 individually adjustable alarms remind you of the regular blood glucose measurement and thus diabetes therapy will soon become routine in everyday life for your pet as well. Successful diabetes therapy is achieved by following your pet's treatment plan, regular blood glucose monitoring and the competent care of your veterinarian.
Using a human blood glucose meter on a cat or dog may result in inaccurate readings and a low or high blood glucose reading. Your WellionVet BELUA blood glucose meter takes all these differences into account and is specially calibrated for cats and dogs.
Ketone measurement in cows
WellionVet BELUA - For better herd health
The ketone body measuring device for cows
- safe and accurate ketone body measurement in dairy cows
- specially calibrated for the blood composition and blood characteristics of dairy cows!
The WellionVet BELUA meter is specially designed for dairy cows. The easy handling and measurement of the ketone body concentration directly on the animal allows a precise result in only a few seconds directly in the barn! The large and easy to read digits on the backlit display and the illuminated test strip slot make handling in the barn even easier.
Subclinical ketosis is much more common than clinical ketosis, and can therefore cause a greater loss of earnings! It remains undetected without measuring the ketone bodies. Therefore cows should be routinely monitored for subclinical ketosis! The determination of ß-hydroxybutyrate (BHB), the predominant ketone body in the blood, is the GOLD STANDARD diagnostic test for detecting subclinical ketosis.
The measurement of BHB with a meter specially calibrated for cows allows a diagnosis to be made from capillary or venous blood even before clinical ketosis develops with visible signs of disease. Avoiding disease is better than treating already obvious clinical cases!
