Diabetes mellitus is the most common metabolic disease worldwide.
 
Type 2 diabetes in particular is increasing rapidly worldwide. Due to modern lifestyle, too little exercise and too much and fatty food, the number of people suffering from diabetes is increasing.

There are around 8 million people in Germany who suffer from diabetes mellitus. However, of these, around 2 million diabetics are still undiagnosed.*

The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) estimates that by 2040, a total of around 642 million people worldwide could suffer from a glucose metabolic disorder.**

The following signs can indicate a metabolic disorder or diabetes:

  • Anadipsia
  • Increased urination
  • Tiredness, weariness
  • Dramatic weight loss
  • Skin inflammation, pruritus
  • Bad wound-healing
