  • Middle aged to older dogs

Type 2

increasing age, gender, being neutered, physical inactivity, drugs: glucocorticoid and progestin administration, body condition score - obesity

Diseases that lead to diabetes in horses:

  • Hyperfunction of adrenal gland (Cushing-Syndrom)
  • Obese horses that get food rich in proteins and energy and have a lack of activity (metabolic syndrome)
